Twelve songs based on texts by the Swedish writer Stig Dagerman (1923-1954). The full-length, which is Mårten Lärka's sixth album, is released on classic '12 vinyl and digital platforms.

On October 5th, 2023, Stig Dagerman would have turned 100 years old. On the same day, the single "En dag om året" ("One day a year") came out with a subsequent video.

"...a jaunty rock song at the hands of Lärka and his crew of merrymakers. Swirling Farfisa Foyer, 1960s backbeat and a word-for-lovely-word vocalizing of the poet's cherished words. Go on, sing along....”
-THE GLOBAL TEXAN CHRONICLES

If you wrote "Burnt child", "The Serpent", "German Autumn", "Island of the Doomed", "Night Games" and hundreds of daily newspaper texts. Yes, then you almost have yourself to blame. Suddenly, a wayward indie troubadour can come and make library rock out of everything.

The closing piece in "German Autumn" has become the krautish "Vi flyger över Bremen" ("We fly over Bremen"). Almost the entire first page from "Bränt barn" became the opening "Den vackra systern" ("The beautiful sister"). "Den tomma rustningen" ("The empty armour") is taken from the depiction of insanity "Island of the doomed" and has been boiled down to an incantation blues with Captain Beefheart ambitions. There are sugary songs, waltzes and punkish pop nerves as well.

The recording and mixing was done in the legendary Tambourine studios in Malmö by Joar Sylvan. To visually represent Dagerman's literary world, an eerily portrait-like Lärka has been flanked by an Archangel and The Death. Photos and make-up by Joakim Brolin and Petra Shara Stoor.

In the early 2000's, Mårten Lärka began his career in the visual genre, and then developed into an indie troubadour with French lyrics interspersed with Swedish, German and English. Setting Stig Dagerman's pulsating material to music feels like a natural step. Spread, waltz, poetic, punk, black, white, gray and pink.
